This form of handloom comes from Bhoodan Pochampalli district in
Telangana. Known for its unique patterns created by geographic designs, it also lends the name ‘Silk City of India’ to this district.

This design blends comfort with grandeur, traditional with contemporary, and bursts of colors in intricate patterns. Pochampalli uses both single and double Ikat weaving techniques to bring the design to life.

The most telling feature of the Pochampalli is the skillful transfer of the intricate designs to fabric. One pochampalli Ikat saree can take upto 10 days for a family of 4 to complete and it is this labour and detailing that gives it that exquisite and desirable finish to the final product that you drape.
